Safety, Weather & AI Notice

XCInsight supports post-flight analysis and experimental in-flight context. LIVE, forecasts and AI are advisory information, not certified operational flight-safety systems.

6 September 2026 Version 2026-09-06-v3

1. Intended use

XCInsight is designed for post-flight learning, comparison and planning context. It is not certified for navigation, obstacle clearance, airspace compliance, emergency decisions or official meteorological briefing.

2. Weather module

The Weather tab combines numerical-model data and derived paragliding-oriented metrics. Wind, gusts, pressure-level winds, cloud base, boundary layer and thermal-potential values can differ materially from actual local conditions.

Terms such as favourable window, model agreement or thermal potential describe model output only. They do not mean conditions are safe or suitable for a particular pilot, wing or site.

3. AI limitations

AI-generated text can be inaccurate, incomplete or overconfident. It does not observe actual turbulence, wing deformation, pilot fatigue, visibility, traffic, local rotor, obstacles or all applicable rules.

4. Terrain and AGL

Terrain clearance and AGL are approximations based on GPS and digital terrain models. Trees, wires, buildings, cliffs and other obstacles may be absent. Never use XCInsight AGL as obstacle-clearance information.

5. Launch sites and airspace

Launch-site detection, orientation, restrictions and third-party site descriptions can be outdated or wrong. Verify current permissions, airspace, NOTAMs and local rules with authoritative sources.

6. Pilot responsibility

The pilot remains solely responsible for operational decisions. Qualified instruction and locally current information take priority over automated analysis.

7. Report unsafe output

If an analysis or forecast appears dangerously wrong or misleading, stop relying on it and report it to the operator with enough information to identify the flight or forecast.

8. Experimental LIVE flight computer

LIVE can display a recorded route, GPS state, barometric climb or sink, approximate AGL, climb heatmaps and external map context. These values can be delayed, noisy, incomplete, stale or unavailable and must not be used as the sole basis for operational decisions.

A barometer measures pressure-derived vertical movement; it does not prove that a thermal exists. Approximate AGL is derived from GPS and a terrain model and is not obstacle clearance. Missing airspace, obstacle or terrain data must be treated as unknown, never as clear or safe.

Optional in-flight AI is an informational observation layer above deterministic sensor data. It does not control the aircraft and must not direct manoeuvres, establish legal airspace clearance or assess whether continued flight is safe.
